Fine dining · Est. 1998
Nine tables. One kitchen. A tasting journey through the season, served in candlelight at the quiet end of Mulberry Row.
“We cook the way winter ends — slowly, then all at once.”

The Story
Maison Noire began in 1998 as a twelve-seat supper club above a bookbinder’s shop. The name stuck; so did the rule that every guest eats the same menu, on the same night, at the same unhurried pace.
Twenty-seven years later the room is darker, the wine list longer, and the rule unchanged. One seating. Nine courses. No menu printed until the morning’s market has spoken.
From the current carte
$42Line-caught turbot poached in beurre blanc, finished with foraged sea herbs and lemon pearls.
$4621-day aged duck breast, blackberry gastrique, parsnip silk and a juniper-dark jus.
$38Forty vegetables, one plate. Our garden tasting celebrates the winter harvest in nine bites.

The Chef
Trained in Lyon and Brussels, Aurélien took the Maison Noire kitchen in 2011 and quietly rebuilt it around a single idea: that luxury is attention. Two national culinary awards later, he still writes the menu by hand every Thursday and still cooks every service.
“A plate should say good evening before it says anything else.”

Reservations
We hold the room to a single seating each night, so tables are limited and released on the first of every month. For parties of six or more, or the Chef’s Counter, call us directly.
